Geumodo (금오도, Geumodo) is the most powerful faction within the Ninth Gate located in China.

It is said that they have members of more than one thousand years old.

Geumodo itself is also a area unhabited by humans where the Tower of Bongshin can be found.

History

In the myhical era, Geumodo was created from a floating island form mythical era. Also, "do" in the name is a character meaning "island". Then, they had a great war against Kunlun over Zhongyuan. As opposed to the history belief, Geumodo actually won and locked the hermits of Kunlun in the Tower of Bongshin to extract their power. Since these can be considered as members of the Heavenly Thousand, Geumodo has immense power.

They are part of the Reversion Group and want to destroy the world for their own personal gain, they want their faction to be restored like the way it was before Gaia made power restrictions. They pursue ascension (becoming a divine being) despite their failure. Tongcheon Gyoju mentions the goal to commune with trichiliocosm.

They aren't powerful because in the myths, they don't own the Liaodung Peninsula and Heildong Castle.
